Bike Routes

From the Start in Athletic Park in Newton, Kansas, you have a choice of four courses: 54, 44 or 31 miles that come together near the end at the Sand Creek Trail at 12th Street in Newton, proceeding down to the Finish Line in Athletic Park.

There is also a short Out & Back — go as far as you want — north along the Sand Creek. Bike/Walk Path, which is 3 miles long.

Come learn about bicycle safety at the Chisholm Trail Bike Ride at Athletic Park in Newton, KS!

  • FREE for Youth 5-12
  • Bicycle Required
  • Hemet Fitting (Will Provide Helmet If Needed)
  • Receive a Working Bike Lock (If You Don’t Have One)
  • Learn the Rules of the Road
  • Learn How to Make Sure Your Bike Is Safe to Ride
  • Register Your Bike with the Newton Police Department (Helps Police Identify Your Bike If It Gets Stolen)
